The Door of No Return & The Middle Passage
Sugar Creek Library
December 2017

There were no slaves stolen from Africa.  No, they were mothers and fathers, healers and farmers, leaders and builders, young boys and girls, and many many others.  It is our honor and great responsibility to forget them not, and remember those ancestors who did and did not survive the Middle Passage.  For if it had not been for them, we would not be here today.

Join Us throughout May in the North End of Charlotte at Sugaw Creek Recreational Center as LATIBAH Tours present, “Forget Us Not…We are the Links to Your Past,”  our life-size installation of The Door of No Return & The Middle Passage, accompanied with community programs. This emotionally moving exhibit in combination with our engaging and interactive programs pays tribute to of all those who endure the inhumanity of the Middle Passage and honors their courageous determination.  LATIBAH will be at this location for a limited time, so all are encouraged to visit the exhibit and to attend the culturally filled events this May. The programs are free, open to the public, and suitable for all ages.
